The action

The owners of this 1,166 square foot loft have organized everything from family dinners and business affairs to concerts and film crews. About 65 potential buyers visited the space and nine made purchase offers. The highest bid came in at $1.428 million, or $340,000 more than the list price.

“We weren’t expecting it to go this high,” agent Ken Ramsay said, “but obviously we were pricing it a little below market value.

“I’ve sold several other lofts in the building,” Mr Ramsey said. “They are all different, but this one is bigger and feels very big when you walk in.”

Officer taking

“I was told it has the oldest steel windows in a residential building currently in Toronto,” Ramsay said.

“And you have 13½ foot ceilings and really cool fluted columns.”

The original details have also been retained in the common areas. “The other cool thing about the building is that it has a few lifts that people can use,” Mr Ramsay said.
