New Delhi: As India successfully administered 90 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine, Dr Naveet Wig, chairman of the Covid task force at AIIMS Delhi, said on Saturday that the war on Covid is still not easy because the pandemic can return with a vengeance while affirming the need for the people to be careful.

“We have to go way ahead of 100 crore and make sure everyone is double vaccinated. So that’s our goal and we are moving forward, but we have to go faster and make sure everyone gets the second dose as well.” said Dr Wig. ANI.

“And this is how we are going to win this war. It is not yet an easy war, we cannot be too confident, we have to be a little wary not to let our guard down and take all the precautions”, he added. .

Dr Wig further said that some states still have a positivity rate of over 10%. “It is not easy. Many countries are still fighting. So we have to be very careful because it can come back in force,” he said.

The Union Ministry of Health, ahead of the festival season, has continuously alerted states and Union territories to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Speaking on this, Dr Wig said people have to be extra careful until two weeks after Diwali because acute febrile illness is everywhere.

“We are seeing cases of dengue, brush typhus, typhoid fever and airborne illnesses. So it is very difficult for doctors to decide whether it is Covid or flu, dengue, typhoid fever or of viral hepatitis. So my request is the same until festival season, take it easy, wear your mask and avoid social gatherings. ” he stated.
