Kaun Banega Crorepati 14: Contestant Kavita Chawla sings ‘Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyar Mein’ with a twist

Kaun Banega Crorepati 14 has become quite an interesting sight among the audience as he is about to get his first crorepati. Competitor Kavita Chawla had taken the seat after competitor Bijal exited. She shared with Amitabh Bachchan that she had been trying to come to KBC since the show’s first season, her son reveals, “I saw my mum studying hard and she would tell us not to bother her.” She shared that her son was born the year of KBC premiere and since then she has been trying to be on the show.

The question for Rs. 1000 is an illustrated question: while baking, which would you typically use to flatten the dough to make rotis? Of the four image options, she correctly answers “Belan”.

Kavita tells that she beat her son and would often run after him with belan. Her son says he is beaten often and with many things. He says, “I’m 22 and I’m still getting beat up. The host says, “That’s okay. Even I am getting to that age,” and he laughs.

Kavita asked Amitabh to recite poetry saying, “Kavita ke liye aap ek kavita padh dijiye. Please sir.” Big B recites “Kabhie kabhie mere dil me khayal aata hai”.

The Brahmastra actor shared that he learned that Kavita is a good singer. To that, Kavita says, “I sing but with a twist. Sometimes I get bored in the kitchen and so to entertain myself I sing Bollywood songs with an English accent. She first sings ‘Gum hai kiskey pyaar mein’ normally then with an accent. She also recounts how the neighborhood children speak to her with an accent.

Kavita also asks the host to sing a song but he hesitates at first. Then, to everyone’s surprise, he starts speaking with an English accent and sings.

Kavita won Rs. 80,000 without using a lifeline and becomes a rolling candidate for the next day.
