Rhema Varsity Obtains Approval for Preclinical Accreditation
The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria has given approval for preclinical accreditation from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Rhema UniversityAba.
This is contained in a statement released by the Public Relations Officer (PRO)M Count Okezieand made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in UmuahiaThursday.
Okezie said the news was passed on to the institution in a letter signed by the council’s registrar, Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi.
The statement added that the approval follows the report of the board’s accreditation team which visited the university on October 13.
He quoted the Registrar for saying that “with this approval, the Rhema University College of Health Sciences can now conduct examinations in anatomy, biochemistry and physiology.”
He added that the university could also organize part 1 – second MB professional exams.
In a reaction, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ogbonnaya Onwudikewould have thanked the council for the accreditation.
According to Onwudike, this step requires more work because it is only one of many accreditation visits to be carried out at the university by the council.
The college provost, Prof. Madu Awawelcomed the development.
Awa said the university is poised to produce doctors, who could compete favorably with the best in the field of medical sciences across the world.
