After its inaugural event in May last year, Moama Lights is making a dazzling return for 2022.

Invented Moama Lights, this three-week celebration of art, light and all things Moama will see the Murray River come alive in a dazzling and luminous wonderland, showcasing stories from across the region through state-of-the-art installations , projections and state-of-the-art moving light technology.

Following the artistic triumph of the first Moama Lights in 2021, this popular event – winner of the 2021 NSW Tourism Awards Bronze Prize – returns to illuminate Moama’s culturally significant Horseshoe Lagoon every evening from July 31 to August 21, using sound and lighting for an original and immersive experience like no other.

Follow the trail of red-lit river gums and the theatrical mist rising beneath the sidewalks as you are mesmerized by the light show of the gum leaves slowly drifting through the lagoon. Venture into the thick bush where you will be engulfed in a canopy of light, captivated by the vast night sky of hundreds of twinkling stars, and stroll through a field of thousands of illuminated native flowers covering the bush floor. As the treeline begins to part, the majestic Murray River will reveal itself, blazing with color in a triumphant finale.

Inspired by the ever-changing natural light and ancient environment, Moama Lights is an unforgettable, world-class event.

Moama Lights was produced by renowned lighting production and design company, Mandylights, which staged the biggest New Year’s Eve lighting show ever in Dubai, lit up the National Gallery of Singapore, the Harbor Bridge in Sydney and the Auckland Bridge, and created installations for Vivid Sydney.
