Udupi: MAHE researchers among the first 2 percentiles of scientists in the world
Udupi, November 24: The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is proud to announce that its researchers were recently recognized in the top 2 percentile of scientists in the world in the study conducted by researchers at Stanford University. Six researchers from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education appear in the prestigious list of researchers. In an official function, they were congratulated by Lieutenant General (Dr) MD Venkatesh, VC -MAHE, Dr PLNG Rao, Pro -VC MAHE, Dr Narayana Sabhahit, Registrar – MAHE as well as other senior officials of MAHE.
Following this achievement, Lieutenant General (Dr) MD Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, said: âOur warm congratulations to Dr Raja Selvaraj, Dr Raghavendra U, Dr Ali Tanweer, Dr Acharya, Shashidhar, Dr Mutalik Srinivas, and Dr SatheeshaNayak B for being recognized in the top 2 percentile of scientists in the world in the study conducted by researchers at Stanford University. Dr Raja Selvaraj of chemical engineering has been featured in the field of biotechnology – inorganic and nuclear chemistry. Dr Raghavendra U of Instrumentation and Control Engineering was in Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing – Biomedical Engineering – Subject Information and Communication Technologies. Dr Ali Tanweer from the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering was listed in the Networks and Telecommunications – Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing – Information and Communication Technologies category. All these three researchers are from the Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal campus.
Dr Acharya, Shashidhar of Manipal College of Dental Sciences was in Dentistry-Pharmacology and Pharmacy-Clinical Medicine while Dr MutalikSrinivas of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences was in Pharmacology and Pharmacy-Medicinal and Biomolecular Chemistry-Clinical Medicine and Dr Satheesha Nayak B from The Melaka-Manipal Medical College has been listed in Anatomy and Morphology – General and Internal Medicine – Clinical Medicine.
The list of top scientists was generated by Professor John PA Ioannidis of Stanford University and his research collaborators based on the single-year impact of research in 2020 taken from Scopus on August 1, 2021. The comprehensive list includes the top 2 percentile of scientists from around the world from different fields based on standardized citation indications from scientific publications and has been rated on the basis of parameters such as number of citations, H index, co-author and a composite indicator.
